I have created a short tutorial video to introduce users to Normality 3 and its numerous features.
The video is split into two parts, each around 10 minutes in length.
Normality Video Tutorial Part 1⁄2
In part one of this tutorial I speak about the basics of setting up a composition with Normality in After Effects. We’ll look into the different options when it comes to normal passes, the various light types and falloffs and we’ll apply some basic shading to our model.
Normality Video Tutorial Part 2⁄2
In the second part we’ll dive into rim lighting, toon shading, reflections, refractions, bump mapping and I show you how to composite the lighting from normality with a pre-rendered textured object.
I hope this tutorial will clear up a few things for new users and perhaps show some tricks to people already familiar with the software.
